Dragonflight is the new WoW expansion and it’s almost here, so we’ve got our healer tier list to help you decide how to spec your new healer character.

The wide variety of specializations in WoW makes it difficult to know exactly which direction to hunt if you want to help your party as much as possible.

Read on to learn which specializations are best suited for your role as a healer.

Ranking of Dragonflight Healers

WoW Dragonflight Healer Specialization

When it comes to healers in WoW, Dragonflight has completely turned the old rankings on their head. Part of the reason for this is a new class, Evokers, which is not only the first new ranged DPS class in the game since launch, but also doubles in the healer role.

This changed things up a bit, but there are no surprises if you’re guessing how high up the list the new class can land.

We’ve listed each of the best specializations below, and our reasons for putting them where they are on the list.

S+ Rank – Conservation Evoker

It may take a while to get used to some of the class’s abilities, but the Preservation Evoker is incredibly powerful when it comes to reviving and healing your allies, and isn’t overly sloppy when it comes to to defend yourself.

They also have an insane amount of healing abilities and can help the party in combat when your healing isn’t needed. Win. Just remember that these new Empowerment-type spells require you to hold the shortcut, and you must do so to get the most out of this class.

S rank – Restoration Druid

This probably won’t surprise anyone who’s been playing WoW for a while, but the second best healer in Dragonflight is the Restoration Druid. This beast of a class used to be the subject of jokes as it was considered OP in almost every role.

With the Restoration specialization, the druid becomes a very proficient healer. They’re pretty good at surviving and basically dishing out heals on demand. The bigger downsides here come from the need to hit cooldowns and the complete lack of real damage compared to the Preservation Evoker.

One rank – Holy Paladin

The Paladin class tends to be better at buffs and defense than pure healing, but if used properly, they can still be a good choice to fill the role of healer in your party. The Holy Paladin in particular is a great choice for any dungeon where you’ve been struggling to keep your healer alive.

Like most paladins, the holy paladin is very difficult to kill. Unlike most healers, you’re likely to be the last member of your party. However, they suffer from limited mobility, which is a heck of a factor when it comes to being in the right place to keep your party alive.

B Rank – Restoration Shaman

Among the healers, Restoration Shaman have the greatest potential for versatility. They can handle most situations you want to throw at them in terms of healing, but they also tend to suffer a little in just about every other area.

Don’t expect them to add to your DPS in raids, but they have the potential to keep you alive and fighting for much longer. They can spec for extra revives mid-fight, making them great for a party with a glass cannon strategy.

C Rank – Holy Priest

While the Holy Priest still suffers from the aforementioned mobility issues, it has fantastic utility when it comes to healing a bunch of players at once. The problem is that it can be difficult to get everyone in an ideal position to actually cast their best spells.

On the plus side, Holy Priests often have the most utility when it comes to weird damage types or weird situations to deal with. As long as you play them like a toolbox and use each ability just right, they’re certainly a viable class to use even in Mythic+ dungeons.

D rank – Mistweaver Monk

The Mistweaver Monk sometimes gets a bit of a bad rap when it comes to these lists. They’re a healing class that focuses on melee attacks, and they do their best work while actually dealing damage to enemies.

Don’t count out the monks just yet, though. They already have great healing powers, and there are a number of new tweaks that give you even more options. The main downside is that this specialization probably has the steepest learning curve on the list.

E Rank – Discipline Priest

There are probably people out there who are appalled by the Discipline Priest’s low position on the list, but listen to me. The Discipline Preist has absolutely terrible survivability combined with poor mobility, and you’ve got disaster in your enemy’s path waiting to happen.

While the Discipline Priest can actually be decent when it comes to dealing damage that heals your party, there is one major downside. You need to stay very close to your enemies to deal damage, and with your poor survivability, you’ll need more healing than you give to others.
