Tom Brady discharges after Buccaneers disaster: ‘F–k that’

Tom Brady held nothing back after the Buccaneers’ most recent loss, a 35-7 embarrassment against the 49ers that dropped Tampa Bay to 6-7 in the season.

Speaking to San Francisco Chronicle NFL reporter Michael Silver, Brady was surprisingly candid about his feelings following the latest development in this troubling season, in which he was seen storming out of Levi’s Stadium without a shower.

“Some things I’m not thinking about right now,” Brady said, half-smiling, according to the report. “F—k that. I’m going home.”

Brady famously grew up a 49ers fan in California and had a large number of friends and family in attendance for game Sunday in Santa Clara. But what could have been a triumphant homecoming ended in a blowout by Brock Purdy, the 49ers’ third stringer who was drafted last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and has drawn comparisons to Brady himself for his late draft status.

When asked how his fans reacted to the loss, Brady was again direct with his answer.

“I’m sure they left, they did,” Brady said. “I don’t want her out there in that shit. It was terrible. We sucked.”

Brady completed 34 of 55 passes in the game for 253 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. For the season, Brady ranks 33rd among NFL quarterbacks in yards per attempt (6.2) and 19th in passer rating (88.9). The Buccaneers have struggled since Bruce Arians stepped down as head coach during the offseason, rising from second place in points per game in 2021 to 28th in 2022.

Brady has had a difficult year both on and off the field. He recently finalized his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen after 13 years of marriage. Tensions reportedly rose after Brady returned to the NFL for his 23rd season this year after initially retiring this offseason before changing his mind.

As the Buccaneers grapple for another playoff spot in the struggling NFC South, frustration seems to be reaching out to the future Hall of Famer quarterback.
