After spending $400-$500 on a PlayStation 5 console, you may find your coffers empty so quickly after realizing that the PS5 video game costs as much as $69.99 apiece can. Thankfully, like all video games, PS5 games will eventually come down in price, regardless of how good the games are. The games listed here are very well and right now they are also the cheapest PS5 games out there.
The games listed below are PlayStation exclusive video games. Aside from Horizon Forbidden West, they’re also PS5-exclusive titles, meaning they’ve been built from the ground up to take advantage of the PS5’s graphical power without having made any concessions to make them backwards-compatible with older consoles.
Horizon forbidden west
IGN Editorial Pick 9/10
A triumphant combination of gripping combat, premium creature and character design, and an immersive open world, Horizon Forbidden West is an absolute banger and a fantastic showcase for the power of the PS5. While the return of some familiar series insignia and a noticeable lack of freeform climbing never threaten to derail the fun, it still frustratingly falls short of something revolutionary. Major evolutionary strides have been made firmly in the right direction, however, and there’s no doubting the many, many hours of fun with Aloy further cementing her claim to be one of the greatest characters of this generation of games. Guerrilla has outdone itself once again with Forbidden West, and on this trajectory, neither the horizon nor the sky are the limits to what might come next.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
IGN Editorial Pick 9/10
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a stunner. Not only does it give the latest generation of consoles a game that looks as beautiful as the improved technology has promised, but it is also a fantastic gaming experience. Insomniac has been in the Ratchet and Clank block many times, but Rivet and other new characters bring so much charm, wit, and heart to a franchise I’ve loved for most of my life. That’s coupled with the best action-platforming gameplay in the series and incredible art and sound design across the board. Rift Apart might not be the biggest adventure, but its big heart, ferocious weapons, and incredible detail make it one of the most memorable of the year yet.
demons souls
IGN Editorial Pick 9/10
The team at Bluepoint had the unenviable task of reimagining an 11-year-old game with a cult following and making it look – and play – as the very first game built from the ground up for this current generation of consoles became. And that’s exactly what they did. Demon’s Souls is stunningly beautiful and plays significantly better than it did on PS3, thanks not only to the graphical power of the PlayStation 5, but also to intelligent quality-of-life changes and light touches that modernize some frustrating aspects of the original. without ever sacrificing the unrelenting challenge, puzzling boss fights, and style that made it such a groundbreaking game in the first place.
return
IGN 8/10
The moment-to-moment gameplay of Returnal is great, with a wide variety of weapons each having a variety of interesting possible properties, sensible strategic choices that can either keep a run afloat or doom it, and punishingly challenging but rewarding Gunplay that is consistently exhilarating. Despite all this focus on action, it never lets the ball down on the story. The big problem is that the runs take way too long and there is no way to save the progress other than putting the PS5 to sleep. This weakens the desire to immediately come back and try again after failure, although it’s not enough to stall it. Still, Returnal is an incredible roguelike and one of Housemarque’s best games to date.
