New 2D Mario has been rumored, let’s hope it dwarfs the art style of New Super Mario

Rumor: New online 2D Mario in the works

Welcome back! It’s another Tuesday, which means there will be a new episode of the Spot Dodge Podcast tonight exclusively on Destructoid. Subjects: Tonight the crew is discussing mortal shell boot on switch, Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters coming to most consoles and a new 2D that is rumored to be Mario Game in progress!

Zippo claimed last August that a new 2D Mario The game is a work in progress and it will have an art style that will “surprise” people. They also claimed that there will be online multiplayer. Finally, this supposedly new 2D Mario game will not be part of theNew Super Mario Bros.” Series.

Fast forward to now, Zippo returns with some new information about the rumored 2D Mario Game. Apparently Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad are all playable characters – exactly the same lineup as in Super Mario Bros. 2 for NES.

One thing is for sure, me Yes, really I hope this claim about an art style that will “surprise” people is true. We got four Mainline 2D Mario games and a large expansion thatNew Super Mario Bros.” Art direction and it was boring from the start. It’s time for something new and exciting for 2D Mario, and a stylish new art direction is just what the series needs to spice things up. Hell, something along the lines of fan-made Super Mario Flashback would be nice.
