If you are still looking for a new gaming PC at the end of the year, you might find it at the discounter Aldi this week. The online shop offers the Medion Erazer Hunter X20 – including Intel Core i9-12900KF, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 32 GB DDR5 RAM.
Medion Erazer Hunter X20: From 08.12. on sale at Aldi
Medion presented the new Erazer Hunter X30 gaming PC with powerful hardware at gamescom 2022, but the predecessor with hardware that is hardly weaker will be available from December 8th in the discounter Aldi in its own online shop.
It is, at least in terms of technical equipment, an updated and adapted model compared to the gaming PC of the same name, which was also offered by Aldi at the beginning of the year. This had the model name MD34715, while the new version is called MD34765.
However, the new gaming PC has much more powerful hardware to offer. It is powered by the Intel Core i9-12900KF processor, which combines 16 cores (8 performance and 8 efficiency cores) with 24 threads and clock speeds between 3.20 GHz. and 5.20GHz. An Alphacool Eisbaer 240 water cooling system is used for the necessary cooling.
It is supported by 32 gigabytes of fast DDR5-4800 RAM. A total of four terabytes of system memory is divided equally between a 2 TB PCIe SSD and a 2 TB HDD. Unfortunately, Aldi does not provide any information about the speeds of the built-in SSD. One can only hope that this does not become the bottleneck of the otherwise well-equipped gaming PC.

The components are installed on a Gigabyte Z690 AORUS PRO AX motherboard, while graphics processing is handled by an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB of GDDR6X graphics memory. Thus, even the most modern games should be playable in 4K resolution without any problems. Especially since the graphics card is equipped with three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.1 connection.
An RTX 3090 (24 GB VRAM) or the new GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards, such as the RTX 4080 (16 GB VRAM) or RTX 4090 (24 GB GDDR6) would be even better suited for the absolute high-end segment. they would also drive up the price significantly. After all, the “cheapest” GeForce RTX 4080 alone costs around 1,500 euros.
However, the built-in 3080 Ti offers more than enough reserves for 4K gaming and should be easy to upgrade afterwards.
The rest of the equipment is also convincing
Otherwise, the Medion Erazer Hunter X20 leaves little to be desired. Aldi, for example, speaks of a branded case from InWin that relies on a sleek look. Judging by the looks, it seems to be an adapted version of the InWin A5.
A 750 watt power supply from Seasonic (Focus GX-750) is installed. Fast WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and a network controller for 2.5 Gigabit LAN are also offered. The sound is realized on board via a Realtek 7.1-channel high-definition audio chip.

The Medion Gaming PC measures 22.7 cm x 44.6 cm x 48 cm and weighs around 15 kilograms. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed, as well as various software test versions. A wired mouse is also included.
The Erazer Hunter X20 is also well positioned in terms of connections and offers 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1, 1 x mic in, 1 x audio out in the I/O panel, as well as a large selection on the back:
- 4 x USB 2.0 Type-A
