Gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy – Open World, Combat and Room of Requirement

Publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer Avalanche Software have released new gameplay footage of the open-world action role-playing game Hogwarts legacy shows the open world, combat, and the Room of Requirement.

Get the latest details below.

In the first section of the game, the player, a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century, mounts his broomstick and flies low over the open world. The player flies over the Scottish Highlands and lands to explore a hamlet that offers the opportunity to meet various witches and wizards while participating in quest opportunities. The player then mounts an Onyx Hippogriff (a Hippogriff variant exclusive to pre-orders) to traverse the landscape as winter sets in and the land is blanketed in snow.

In a deeper dive of combat, the player wielding the Dark Arts cosmetic set will progress through the Forbidden Forest before riding a Thestral to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. The Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, Thestral Mount, and Dark Arts Battle Arena are exclusive to the Hogwarts legacy Deluxe Edition or available for purchase in-game in the Dark Arts Pack. The player immediately casts an Avada Kedavra spell to indicate that the enemy’s health bar will instantly go to zero. Tools like potions and plants from the Room of Requirement can be brought into battle with the player to defeat enemies more efficiently.

In the last video, the player visits the Room of Requirement. The entire room can be personalized and the architecture changed by conjuring objects into the room. Summons can be found at Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade or rewarded for completing various activities throughout the game. Utility items like plant pots and brewing stations can also be customized. As the game progresses, the player can summon the Loom, which allows them to customize their gear and add magical properties. And finally, the player goes to the vivarium, where beasts are cared for. A Graphorn, Niffler, Kneesel, and Moon Calf are revealed. By petting and feeding a beast, they give the player the magical ingredients they need to customize and upgrade their gear. A toy box is also available for playing with the beasts and the beasts can be given individual names.

Hogwarts legacy will be released on February 10th, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam, followed by PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 4th and Switch on July 25th.
