For more than two decades, CNET editors have poked, poked, tested, retested, dropped on purpose and even stayed up all night evaluating the new products and services that are promising to transform the way we live and work to change.

Our new Editors’ Choice badge.
CNET
In 2022, our team of experts found 81 products and services across seven categories that we think are worth celebrating and—most importantly—worthy of a CNET Editors’ Choice Award.
From the smartphones, laptops, and tablets we use every day to stay connected to the routers, monitors, and other essential devices that make our digital ecosystems work, we continue to rely on technology to ensure that we communicate and collaborate as simply and effectively as we can.
We also dug deep to find the best TVs, Bluetooth speakers, kitchen appliances, robot vacuums, software and online services including VPNs to keep your data private and voice apps as many of you travel again .
The result of all this work has led to our selection for the CNET Editors’ Choice Awards, which we’re honoring this year with a new badge that we’ll use to identify those standouts in our reviews, leaderboards, product comparisons, and other stories on our site.
As always, our mission is to help you navigate our changing world, whether you’re looking for premium gear or more affordable options. And we back those decisions with in-depth tips, explanations, and how-to guides. Note that these products and services have been rated in 2022 to help you decide what gear to add to your life in 2023.

CNET’s new innovation award badge.
CNET
One more note: in terms of innovation, 2022 was a modest year overall, with a focus on evolving products to make them better rather than blowing up new categories.
Still, we were happy to find four products that we thought pushed the envelope and were worthy of another CNET honor: our Innovation Award, which recognizes technology that brings new and remarkable ideas to market. Check out our list below.
We’re excited to continue CNET’s tradition of rewarding products that offer the best combination of performance, design, and value. We’d love to hear from your favorites too. Find CNET on your favorite social media channel and let us know what you think.
