Buying a pre-built PC was something to smile about. However, things have changed as the battle for the top spot is an ongoing war for customer satisfaction.
Buying a new PC but don’t have the funds to build it yourself? As PC games get bigger, so does the quality of pre-built machines. These used to be a game of overpriced, poorly equipped, and poorly designed machines. As there is a need for quality machines at all levels of gambling, it is fortunate that these companies have upped their game over the years in the wild.
So what’s the best? Who builds you a Good finished PC without complications, outside the construction period?
As we head towards Black Friday and the holiday season, be aware that most PC manufacturers will have long lead times. Take this into account when ordering.
What is the best prebuilt PC?
We can tell which is the best prebuilt PC for gaming based on the specifications offered with the cost for you. Also no, we haven’t observed every warehouse building these PCs – as much as we’d like to. We estimate how much that would cost you compared to the price of a PC if you build it yourself.
As with Starforge’s original lineup, we’ll point out here if the price doesn’t meet specs. It might end up being cheaper to get help building one yourself.
However, from our own experience, most pre-built PC sellers have the right people on board who care either deeply about the technology industry or customer service. You shouldn’t worry too much about where you’re getting it from, as almost every major player in the game builds, packages, and ships their PC correctly. Hopefully.
Best Budget Prebuilt Gaming PC Under $1000:
Unfortunately, the budget for pre-built PCs is under $1000. Personal computers have become expensive, mainly due to the continuing problems with electronics shortages around the world. However, with Black Friday fast approaching, it appears that Best Buy has some great, easy-to-upgrade, budget-class machines for on-the-go at the moment.
They may not be made in a bespoke workshop, with wooden tables and various streamers flattering above them, but if you want something relatively cheap and simple, this might be your best option.
Of course, not all PCs are created equal, and things like iBuyPower’s i3-12100F for a whopping $730 are an absolute rip-off. The i3 won’t take you anywhere outside of really low-end gaming, and the GTX 1650 is slowly being phased out.
There are also many models with 8 GB of RAM. You want something that will be at least 16GB. If you have the heart for it, you can always add your own as a first step in upgrading your system.
At the moment, a CyberPowerPC with an RX6700 XT and a Ryzen 7 5700 might not sound spectacular on paper compared to modern systems. However, it’s a perfectly capable device for those interested in MMOs, esports or decent 1080p gaming. It currently costs $999.99, with a $400 discount.
Elsewhere, we’d also recommend B&H’s iBUYPOWER SlateMR, which comes equipped with an RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 5 5600. This one is outfitted similarly to the one we mentioned earlier, but with DLSS on board you can push it even further than it normally could.
Best Mid-Range Prebuilt Gaming PC Under $2000
In mid-tier systems, you can finally stretch your legs and find something without many limitations. Depending on where you look, you might find an even better deal than the budget tier PCs.
These systems are often topped with a 3070 Ti or similar, but could end up with DDR5 RAM. We’re going up another level here, so expect more than $1000, up to $2000.
If you want a solid 1440p experience, maybe even 4K, and a range of accessibility without having to worry about your PC’s innards, this is the way to go.
Best Prebuilt Premium Gaming PC Over $2000
If you’re scared of big numbers, look away now. These PCs are beefy, filled with the latest and greatest in the world of technology. The worst is? Not many of us will end up getting one. It’s nice to have a look though.
These will probably be around 4090 now. Yes, the $1500 Wonder in the World will absolutely be the best buy you make – if you can afford the horrific prices.
Here we recommend going for something over an i7 or Ryzen 7. If you have the money, you might as well give it all. DDR5 too, you don’t want to limit your PC if you ever plan to upgrade. Here you will find things like Alienware or even Starforge’s own systems.
This is the pinnacle of pre-built PCs and they’re going to be with you for quite a while.
Is Alienware the best and is it worth it?
Depending on what you want from your system, Alienware could be your golden goose. The thing about Alienware, however, is that they are massively overpriced for what you get. Things have gotten significantly worse over the years, but the fact remains that their pre-built PCs are expensive.
This is mainly due to the custom cases they use and because they are part of Dell. While their laptop division seems to have struggled on prices in recent years, their desktop division is a different story.
You’ll get excellent customer service, but if you don’t want to dwell on the flashy exterior, we can probably do better elsewhere.
What specs are good for a prebuilt PC?
Depending on whether you opt for a pre-built PC to have an easy base for an upgrade, or you just want a basic machine ready to go, you still have the specs to worry about.
Now, if you choose AMD or Intel, you should pay attention to the motherboard inside. Intel still supports DDR4 RAM, but since we’re on DDR5 now, older motherboards don’t support next-gen RAM. While your CPU and GPU will be fine, just consider that upgrading could be a lot more intense than you anticipated.
They don’t want to be “cheated” either. Not that you don’t get your PC, but in terms of getting an older spec machine. There are some seriously nasty machines left behind a few years ago that we strongly recommend you stay away from.
