BALI: airasia Super App has made its entry into the most populous country of the Asean – Indonesia – as it completes its Asean expansion plan in 2022 and focuses on Bali as a major international tourism market.
For a fully integrated travel experience, the travel super app also announced the discontinuation of its airasia ride ride sharing service in Bali, which enables end-to-end travel for everyone using the airasia super app in the island of Bali.
The launch of airasia Super App was announced at a recent press conference in Kuta by Bali Transportation Bureau Head I Gde Wayan Samsi Gunarta and airasia Super App Chief Commercial Officer Tan Mai Yin.

The airasia Super App, a digital company of Capital A (formerly known as AirAsia Group), was launched in Malaysia back in October 2020 and then in Thailand and the Philippines in February and April this year respectively.
Its entry into the Indonesian market is expected to disrupt the local super app space as it is the only one offering a fully integrated travel booking experience in one convenient platform.
Commenting on this significant milestone, Woo said, “We are excited to finally enter the market here in Indonesia as this market offers such strong growth potential.
“It may seem like a Herculean task to disrupt the existing local super app space, which is dominated by a few key players, but we have a unique proposition in terms of what we offer and a different approach as we move into will penetrate this Indonesian market. “
She said that no other super apps out there can truly say that they are a travel super app, offering their users a seamless end-to-end experience spanning both the travel and lifestyle segments united in one platform.
Woo added: “We are also the only travel super app platform owned by an airline, which allows us to capitalize on the strong travel segment and customer base, so we are initially focusing on expanding our presence in key holiday destinations such as expand Bali.

With an integrated online travel agency platform in the app, where users can book flights from over 700 global airlines and stay in over 700,000 hotels worldwide, complemented by a driving service, the airasia Super App offers a seamless end-to-end booking experience for all users .
Apart from that, users can enjoy services like duty-free online shopping on the platform, with options for purchases delivered directly to their seat on AirAsia flights or picked up at any participating airport.
The airasia Super App also offers food delivery services which are currently available in the Tangerang and Jakarta area.
