As 2022 draws to a close, many travelers have their minds on vacation opportunities for 2023. In other words, cruise season — the period between December and March when cruise lines offer some of their best deals and booking incentives — is upon us.
This wave season, cruise lines are offering a slew of fabulous booking bonuses. This includes everything from fare discounts and cabin upgrades to free flights and extra perks like free Wi-Fi and beverage packages. Also, several offers offer additional perks when you pay in full.

Note: Several of the major cruise lines, such as Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean, offer ongoing deals throughout the holidays, but none are specifically tied to wave season.

Atlas Ocean Voyages
From January 4 through March 31, 2023, Atlas Ocean Voyages is offering up to $1,000 in flight credit per cabin (depending on cabin type booked) when sailing to any of the line’s non-polar destinations, including the British Isles in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean . Plus, if you book consecutive trips, you’ll save at least 15% on each fare.
Through February 28, 2023, Celestyal Cruises is reducing its prices for 2023 and 2024 cruises to and around the Greek Islands and the Eastern Mediterranean by up to 60%. As part of the ‘Go Further, Get Closer’ wave season campaign, the cruise line is selling three-day Aegean voyages visiting the Greek islands, Turkey and Crete from US$339 per person (plus taxes and fees).
Through March 31, 2023, Emerald Cruises is offering cruisers the opportunity to save up to $3,000 on river cruises and up to $4,500 on yacht trips. Couples save up to $1,000 on 2023 Europe and 2023-2024 Southeast Asia river cruises, or they can save up to $1,500 off all 2023 and 2024 luxury yacht cruises.
If you pay the full amount at least 12 months prior to departure (or within 72 hours if departure is less than 12 months), you will receive an additional up to $2,000 per couple on river cruises and $3,000 per couple on yacht cruises. In lieu of the additional savings, passengers can choose a free beverage package or a free or discounted airfare instead.

Holland America Line
Holland America offers discounts, stateroom upgrades and additional perks as part of its Time of Your Life wave season offer. Passengers booking select voyages from Summer 2023 through Spring 2024 can book an ocean view room for the price of an inside cabin or a balcony cabin for the price of an ocean view unit.
Additionally, children sail free as third and fourth guests in the same cabin as two paying adults, and shore excursions, specialty dining, and basic Wi-Fi and beverage packages are included in the price of select cruises. This offer is valid through February 28, 2023, but if you book by January 31, 2023, you’ll also receive an onboard credit of up to $400 per room.
Princess Cruises is offering an extension of its long-running “Best Sale Ever” this wave season. Through March 1, 2023, cruisers can enjoy seven perks that usually cost extra, at no additional cost. They include basic liquor and WiFi packages, crew gratuities, two fitness classes, up to $150 onboard credit per person (depending on cabin type booked) and more, and a reduced deposit of just $100 per person at time of booking.
Scenic luxury cruises and tours
Through March 31, 2023, when booking Scenic’s wave season offerings, passengers can save up to $1,500 per couple on nearly two dozen European river voyages and up to $5,000 per couple on voyages aboard new ocean exploration ship Scenic Eclipse for annual departures Save 2023 and 2024 .
Passengers can also choose additional benefits if they pay in full at least 12 months after their departure date (or within 72 hours if their departure is less than 12 months away). Bonus river cruise perks include a complimentary airfare or two for a flight, depending on the cabin booked; a free pre- or post-cruise land expansion; or an additional discount of $1,000 per person on trips of eight days or more. Depending on the cabin type, ocean travelers can choose between free flight or two-for-one flight or an additional discount of USD 3,000 per person.
Silversea, known for its high-end luxury offerings, is offering a 10% to 20% discount on its all-inclusive, port-to-port, prepaid, non-refundable cruises for passengers booking by February 28, 2023 . To receive this offer, passengers must pay in full within five days. The line’s port-to-port fares come with loads of extras, like butler service, complimentary gratuities, free Wi-Fi, free shore excursions, caviar on demand, and free alcohol.
Now through January 31, 2023, Virgin Voyages is running its Most Inclusive Offer Ever – a 60% discount BOGO offer that makes the second passenger in each cabin more than half off the purchase of a full fare. In addition, depending on the cabin type booked, cruise lines will receive up to $600 cash credit to use toward onboard alcohol purchases. Book now for sailings up to March 15, 2023.
For wave season, Windstar has brought back its popular ‘Seize Your Someday’ sale where passengers can choose a benefit. At the time of booking, guests can choose between a pre-cruise hotel stay, a US$1,000 onboard credit per stateroom (based on cruise length) or, when booked in a premium suite on select cruises, an upgrade to the all-inclusive cruise ship package choose line. The package includes gratuities for the crew and offers free alcohol and WiFi access.
