That FIFA World Cup 2022 continued on Friday on FOX with a much-anticipated clash between England and the United States as both teams battled it out for a goalless tie at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.

Both teams came out strong. Harry Kane was so close to get England on the board early but his shot was narrowly blocked by US defender Walker Zimmerman.
17′: USA knocks
Haji Wright almost put the USA ahead with that header, but his attempt failed and they remained scoreless early in the first half.
26′: heating up
Shortly thereafter, Weston McKennie missed another chance for the USA as the first half progressed.

As competition continued to heat up on the field, the sports world noted the lack of yellow cards until the half-hour, especially when USMNT defenseman Antonee Robinson was not given a card for the challenge.
It is worth noting that no English player received a yellow card in the opening match against Iran.

The first save of the game for Team USA came in the closing moments of the first half in added time when USA goalkeeper Matt Turner failed to beat England’s Mason Mount.
It ended in a stalemate before the break.

Both teams were strong in the second half. Tyler Adams set the tone for USA from the start with this magnificent tackle.

Once again England went unpunished after that encounter with USMNT’s Tim Weah.

USMNT captain Adams won a free-kick for the USA after that jab from Mount as the second half came to an end.
83′: A family affair
Giovanni Reyna replaced Weah late in the second half. His participation in Friday’s game was a milestone in his family as he took the field 16 years after his father Claudio Reyna played at his last FIFA World Cup.
90′ + 3′: To be on the safe side
Kane made one last try for England with a header in the final moments of Friday’s game but he failed to score. That ended the game goalless.
FOREPLAY:
Friday’s game against England was the USMNT’s second in the group stage after a 1-1 draw Wales earlier this week. On the other hand, England – favorites to win – clinched a draw against USA after opening the tournament with a dominant 6-2 win Iran on Monday.
